We want to thank ABU for their participation in this event, as well as all of the players who came out to show their support. Earning his bye and putting them one step closer to the $500 first place prize of the championship event was Ben Summers, playing Mardu Vehicles. He squared off against Rob Van Nostrad on UW Control to conclude what was a great top eight. Congratulations Ben!
With ABU's event in the books, there are only two chances left to play a trial where the winner will earn a bye in the main event July 22-23, a trial championship winner playmat, a five dollar off voucher for the main event (awarded to everyone in top 8) and some great prize support! These events will be held at All About Games in Boise and the Friday before the main event at the location of the Real State Championships: The Gem State Gaming Convention.
July 7 or 8: Hour of Devastation Prerelease
The finals match in this event was between Mardu Vehicles and UW Control. This is a huge variant to what we have been seeing in the last few events, showing that standard is a very diverse format. Every deck seems viable right now and we are excited to see so much diversity as our series of trials begins to come to a close.
Let's take a look at what deck Ben Summers played to take down the event at ABU Games last weekend:
Ben Summers - 1st Place
Mardu Vehicles aka Garbage Heap
2x Pia Nalaar
2x Fatal Push
2x Cayon Slough
1x Aether Hub
5x Plains
3x Mountain
Sideboard
1x Cast Out
1x Dusk // Dawn
1x Magma Spray
You can see all of the decks from this event by clicking here. We can't wait to see who wins our final trials, which will take a weekend off as we celebrate the (pre) release of Hour of Devastation. Thank you to all who have come out to support these events so far, we look forward to finding the Real Idaho State Champion!!
